He united Miss Pearl Brandylierry and James L. Waggoner. Both parties are from Monroe. Today’s Indianapolis Star contained a picture of nine prominent democrats at the St. Louis convention. In the bunch appeared the smiling face of ‘‘our lioss," L. G. Ellingham.

Miss Mary Myers returned today from a visit with her sister at Fort Wayne. Mrs. J. C. Armstrong returned today from Lima, where she was visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Craig went to Bluffton today to visit for a short time with relatives. Miss Josephine Niblick returned today from Fort Wayne, where she visited relatives. Misses Margurite and Vera Clark went to \an Wert last evening to spend the summer. Mrs. Joe Hower was called to Lima last evening, owing to the serious illness of her daughter. Lawrence Hughes returned from Geneva this morning where he was looking up old friends. Mrs. J. Fred France and daughter Jesse passed through our city this morning enroute from Geneva to Huntington. John Trout returned to Ft. Wayne last evening to resume his school work after spending the fourth here with his parents. Miss Elsie Ehrsam went to Bluffton today. While here she was nursing Henry Shea who has been quite ill with typhoid fever Mr. and Mrs. Al Burdf left last evening for Paragould, Ark., where they will spend a month looking over the country in trying to find a new location. Mrs. Julia Moses entertained at dinner, Tuesday noon, Mr. and Mrs H. S, Moses, of Canton. Ohio; were visit Illg guests, and others who enjoyed the day were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Moses Miss Gertrude Moses, Mr. and Mrs. James Moses and daughter and Mrs. Nettie Schrock. There will be a meeting of the base ball team tomorrow evening at their club room at 7:3o’clock, sharp. It is necessary for every member to be present as business of importance must and will be transacted. If you are interested please attend. This meeting is strictly for the team.

Miss Vantelberg of Warren passed through our city today enroute to Portland to visit with her sister. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Wisehaupt returned last evening from Anderson where they were visiting their son. Noah Lugenbill and wife returned to Bjrne today, while here they were the guests of Ed Ashbaucher and wife. Miss Mellie Stevely arrived last evening from South Whitley and is the guest of her parents at Pleasant Mills. Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Moses returned to their home in Canton, Tuesday evening, having spent the fourth here with relatives. Misses Clara Zeser and Clara Barick returned last evening from a several days visit with relatives and friends at Fort Wayne. Elmer Moser is at (‘olutnbus, 0., this week buying a new outfit which will be used by them after enlarging their present plant. Mrs. R. J. Holthouse entertained a number of her lady friends at twelve o’clock dinner yesterday in honor of Mrs. Jules Spies of Cleveland, O„ and Mrs. Clem Holthouse of Delphi, Ind. A little fight over a traveling man’s grip, took place today at the Clover Leaf depot between Pug Shaw who assists on the Bnrt House bus and Frank Miller, driver on the Murry House bus. No damage to speak of was done by either of the parties interested, and no blood was spilled. The traveling man became disgusted with both men and walked down street. Such actions does not do either bus line any good, and the boys should cut it out.
