A year ago yesterday occurred the fire which destroyed the Big Store block and in place of the ashes which Were noticeable a year ago today has arisen another beautiful block ready for occupancy.

Newton Anderson made a business trip to Delphos today. Mike Belger of Fort Wayne is a business caller here today. W. R, Neal is attending to insurance business at Bluffton today. Mrs. M. S. Venus is at Bluffton, visiting George Venus and family. Mrs. Fuller left today for Oden,: Michigan, , where she expects to spend the summer. Mrs. Leora Bollenbaw returned to Warren today, having been a guest of Miss Lucile Cusick. Mrs. Teeple went to Willshire today to visit for a short time with hi r daugeter, Mrs. Case. Mrs. George McCormick went to Bluffton today to pack her household goods,preparatory to moving here. E. L. Carroll is making some necessary repairs about his elevator office which add materially to the appearance of same. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Hyland and son Arthur returned this morning from Mount Clemens where Pat was taking treatment for rheumatism. L. A. Ray, of near Auburn, Indiana, is here visiting old friends, he formerly being a resident of Adams county. He will likely spend a week here. The public preaching at Mt. Pleasant will be at 10:110 Sunday morning and will be followed by the administration of sacrament, also at Alpha at 2:30 p.m. There will be an important meeting of Co. B. Thursday evening. A tramp umbrella mender was on last evening ordered off the street by Marshall Cordua for getting too noisy in letting people know his business and was told to go and sober up before he tried to I work his trade, he kindly took the hint, and got. The remains of Mary Mossiner daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hanert of Monroe arrived last evening from Richmond where she died. The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at ten o’clock at the Zion church at Honduras and interment will tie made in Zion cemetery.

Forest Elzey, retu ned this morning from Berne where he hail been I working at the baker trade, being • forced to come home owing to havj ing his little finger on his left hand i! badly hurt by being pinched in a patent reepning chair, Sam Henty Post in this city have received en invitation from Rev. W. E. McCarty, pastor of the Mt. Pleasant congregation, asking them to attend and participate in the corner stone laying of the Mt. Pleasant church on July 4. The post have a meeting tomorrow evening, at which the acceptance of the invitation will be determined.
