Charles Adlesberger made a business trip to Wabash this morning. A. J. Smith is looking after timber business in the south part of the state. Leo Miller returned to Ossian today after spending Sunday with his parents. Miss Cora Stetzle went to Simpson Ind., this morning to visit for a short time with relatives. Niblick entertained a number of her lady friends today in honor of Mrs. Jules Spies of Cleveland, O. Mrs. Catharine Reynolds, Blanch and Rollo Reynolds, Mrs. Lydia Dicer and Vail Sickafuss went to Preble teday to visit with relatives. Burt Townsend arrived Saturday evening from Lima, Ind., where he has been attending school and will , spend the summer here with his father. Frank Barthell arrived from Kendallville Sunday morning where he has been working in a department' store, and will spend the summer with his mother. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Roop in this manner wish to extend their sincere thanks to their neighbors and friends who so generously assisted them during the sickness and death of their son Ora.

Surface have returned to Indianapolis, after a pleasant visit here with Mr. and Mrs. S. G. ; Sheller. Mrs. Isabelle France returned Saturday from Richmond, where she was visiting with Mr. and Mrs, William Rigsby. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mo Farland returned this morning from Portland ' where they spent Sunday with his I parents. Mr. and Mrs. B. Uhl and Mrs. Otto I Uhl, of Toledo, Ohio, are in the city, I the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Voglewede. ■ O. G. Hall has received his new cigar case and back wall which now completes his temperance billard hall. He is doing nicely and likes this place very well. Miss Ethel Barkley'left today for Chicago, where she will make a short visit and then go to Newcastle, Nebraska, where she will spend the summer with Rev. George Schroeder and family.

Frank Cottrell of Berne was ati tending to business here today. Abner Elzey and family of Ossian, spent Sunday with Fred Linn and family. Miss Anna Bender and Harry Poling are visiting relatives at Linn Grove. Mrs. C. D. Smith went to Richmond, today, to visit for a short time with her parents. Dr. Parrish returned from St. Louis, where ho spent a week at the World's Fair. Mrs. Smith, who was the guest of Mrs. J. Lenhart, returned to Fort Wayne this morning. Cal Dudkett returned this morning from Napoleon, 0., where he assisted in building a church. Charles Helen returned this morning from Monroe where he spent Sunday with friends. Miss Singmaster returned to Fort Wayne this morning, after a few’days visit with Miss Mabie Erwin. Rev. S. H. Baumgartner presiding elder of the Ft. Wayne district returned to Elkhart this' morning while here he was a guest of Rev. Haise. Rev. Harst performed a little wedding ceremony last evening at the parsonage uniting John A. Logan and Miss Blanch Stevens in the holy bonds of wedlock. Miss May Holthouse and Edna Crawford and Messrs. Tom Haelling and Fish Mangold attended the German picnic at Freidheim yesterday. They report a large crowd and a big time. Fred Linn received word yesterday morning from Wrenshall, Minn, stating that his brother Charles fell Saturday while putting up a swing for his children and broke 'his arm and leg and that he was in the hospital at Brainord, Minn., where he is being cared for Charles is well known here and his misfortune will no doubt prove a surprise to his many friends who wish for his speedy recovery.
