The arrival of Senator Fairbanks in Chicago tvas the means of reviving the boom that has grown somewhat i weary, but which heads him toward the vice-presidency. His arrival brought no new developments. R. K. Alilson cashier at the Old Adams County Bank, leaves Monday foi Chicago, being an alternate delegate to the repubican national convention, whose sessions open Wednesday in the windy city. The Berne News has published what they term a brief review of the commercial and manufacturing in terests of Bertie, and the several col- . u'lins thus devoted are well-written, j well-printed, and will no doubt prove . a beneficial card to the growth and prosperity of a very prosperous town. Yesterday at Fort Wayne the Hon. James M. Robinson was chosen for the fifth time to lead the democratic hosts in the Twelfth district to victory. The nomination was unanimous showing that the Hon. Jim has convinced eyen Sam Heneh that the twelfth district is safe in the hands of the present representative in congress. Congressman Robinson has j grown wonderfully in the past two terms of congress, and today measures right up to the standard in statesman ship. THEY FOUGHT Wife Chased Husband Out of House With a Gun. A fierce fight took place last evening between Ike Raver and his wife on Sawdust avenue, the quarrell resulting over the marriage of James Sunday Mrs. Raver chased her husband J out of the house and threatened to shoot him. He sue-1 oaeded at last however in taking the gun from her before she could ' do any damage. HURT BY FALL I I Dtssie Merryman Accidentally Injured Last Evening Dassie Merryman, daughter of Mrs Mary C. Merryman,of Eleventh street was quite badly hurt last evening. While playing in the yard she accidently fell, striking against a board ; and cutting a deep ugly gash in her knee. Dr. J. M. Miller was summon ed and dressed the wound which rei quired several stitches. Miss Dessie' is getting along nicely but will be housed up for several days. The Red men will hold theirr decoation day services tomorrow and , will join with the Odd Fellows and I the two orders march out together. They will meet at their lodge room at half past one. R. E. Smith. P. J. Bryan and George Martz viewers on the Staley petition for a road Jin Hartford township made their report today which was adverse to the establishing of the proposed thoroughfare.
