Harry Winnes arrived last evening from Reedley, Caflioruia, fora severu 1 weeks' visit with Decatur relatives and friends. Harry is an old Decatur boy, who has prospered in the far west where he has been for many years.

Miss Jennie Schafer of Elkhart, Indiana is visting in the city with the families of Jacob and Fred Schafer. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Braden returned to Portland this morning, they were enroute from St. Louis where they were taking in the fair. Charles Loch, True Fristoe, and Albert Sellemeyer returned this morning from Winon Luke where they were taking a weeks outing. Mrs. R. B. Boyles and Mr. B. P. Boyles returned to Ft. Wayne this morning, while here they were the guests of Dr. M. P. McMilllen and family. Mrs. K. R. Allison and Mr. Davis Foster returned from Walkertown last evening where they were at the bedside of their uncle Albert Daily who is very sick. A small blaze was discovered last evening about eight o’clock in the barn owned by J. D. Hale on Fifth street. R. J. Holthouse, Clem Holthouse and Hiram Gregg discovered the same and had it out before any damage was done. The funeral services of Frederick Mailand will be held Sunday morning at the home at 9:30 standard time and 10:30 at the church. Mr. Mailand v as hern in Preise,|Minden.
