Curley Radamaeker is lying quite sick at his home from a severe attack of liver and stomach complaint. Clarence Holthouse left last evening for Lima 0., to deliver three head of horses for Peoples and Holthouse. E. A. Munson of Indianapolis special agent for the citizens fire insurance company of St. Louis was a business caller here today. Harry Straub went to Ft. Wayne last evening to hold a conference with the advance agent of Buckskin Bids Wild West show. The derrick has been erected on the Judge Erwin farm and by next week the drilling will begin and then in a week the result will be known. Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Mercer returned last evening from Berne where they were assisting in putting out a special edition of the Berne News. Liss Arbye Loch who was stricken yesterdayjmoruiug with a severe attack of appendicitis, is reported as being much better today, and is resting much easier.

Mrs. Dougherty went to Ohio City today being called there owing to the serious illness if her son W. H. Murphy went to Elwood today to attend the funeral of his mother who died yesterday morning. The two little Roop hoys condition is unchanged and they are no better. They both passed a bad night and are still a good ways off from being well. John Gillig left today for Pittsburg where he has accepted a posi - tion with the Morris Bridge and Iron Company. While here he was the guest of friends. The I. O. O. 'F. lodge at Geneva are contemplating the building of a new lodge room and are having Charles N. Christen preparing plans and speoiefiatons for the new buiilding. The Geneva Odd Fellwos have a strong and prosperous order. W. E. Smith informed us this morning that he had completed all arrangement* with the National Music Company of Chicago whereby that firm will handle his musical composition entitled "High School Belle." which is meeting with merited success all over the country. Melia Barns late yesterday afternoon received word from Bajton Kansas stating that his brother Charles Burns was verv badly injured yesterday and was taken to a hospital at Kansas City where he was operated upon. The accident happened while Mr. Burns was holding a fractious colt which became frightened gave a lunge and jerk causing internal injuries to Charles, and of a serious natnre. Mr. Burns informed us that he is anxiouly awaiting news as he fears the worst.
