Adams county will award contracts next Saturday for ten extensions of macadam roads. The commissioners of Adams county know what constitutes road construction.—Fort Wayne News. TO CARRY MAILS Peoples & Holthouse Contract With Unde Sem. People & Holthouse this afternoon received word from Washington D. C. stating that their firm had received the contract from the government to handle all mail between the depots and the Post Office for one year, their bid being the lowest one received. This is certainly a nice contract and one this firm is proud of and they will at once order a new mail wagon so as to handle the govenment matter more easily and without any delay whatevre. An excange calls the attention of the public exspecially to the small boys that the penalty for killing , song birds is severe one and the boys who have been guilty of the misdemeaur may have the privilege of paying for thier fun. Killing song birds is a direct violation of the law, andi t makes no difference ■ whether the offense is committed in 1 town or country. Some boys in a 1 town in the northern part of the state were arretsed for killing robins and the sport cost them something over twenty dollars a pierce.
