Jonah Schumaker of Ft. Wayne, is in our city the guest of his parents. Mrs. Arlie Leisure went to Berne this morning to visit for a few days with her sister. • Born to Mr. and Mrs. Dan Bailor, a ten-pound girl. Both mother aud babe are doing well. Miss Dolly Simcoke, went to Monroe (his morning, for a few days visit, with her uncle. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Berger returned to Berne today. While here they were the guests of relatives. Mrs. Harry Bell went to Geneva today to attend a musical concert there this evening in which she takes a part. Mrs. Lyon and daughter returned to Fort Wayne last evening, after having been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mell Rice. Mr. aud Mrs. Will Craig and daughter, Carrie, arrived yesterday from Chicago and will spend the summer here. Miss Grace Miller arrived yesterday from Chicago, where she has been studying music, and will spend the summer with her parents. Dr. E. J. Beardsley left today for Philo, Illinois, on professional business. He will return Friday evening, and his office will be closed until Saturday. J. D. Anderson, advance agent for the Buckskin Bill Consolidated Wild West show, is in our city today making all preliminary arrangements to show hereon May 31. Dr. Keller on yesterday shipped six fancy hens and one rooster to a point in the south part of Mississippi, and received the fancy price of $14.00 for the same. The doctor iacertainly getting a world wide reputation when it comes to raising chickens. M'ss Cummins returned this morning from Geneva, where she was looking after her oil interests. She also reports that notwithstanding the reduction in the price of oil work is being pushed rapidly in the field, and many new wells are being drilled.

Sam Arnold Is looking after timber business at Fort Wayne today. R. B. Allison was a passenger to the Allen county metropolis today. Mrs. John Yail went to Geneva today to spend the day with friends. Miss Clara Terveer departed for Fort Wayne last evening, to visit relatives. Mrs. Frank Butler went to Fort Wayne last evening to visit for a few days with relatives. L. C. DeVoss returned this morning from Portland, where he attended to legal business. Rev. Jay Dorwin returned to Fort Wayne last evening, after being the guests of relatives here. Charles Cusick returned last evening from Geneva where he was attendidg to oil business. Miss Fuller arrived from Pleasant Mills today and is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Charles Peterson. H. Norcaut departed today for Grand Rapids, where he will visit a few days with his sister. Mrs. George Chronister returned last evening from Napoleon, Ohio, where she was visiting with her husband. James E. Hodge, a member of the 1 United Grain company, of Toledo. Ohio, was looking after grain business here today. Mrs. Barney Wisemetal and family returned to Kokomo today, while here they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gass.
