R. &I. is following the example of a number of other roads in the country. F>r some time there has been a growing relief that the trav. elng public does not care to be , bothered by the news agents on 1 trains and the roads have felt that they can not be indirectly a party to a business that depends on selll ipg goods at an exorbitant price to the patrons. "J NOT THE WORST e I - But Young Men Still Crave for City r The drift from the country to the a cities continues. During the past 11 few years the farmers have been ■ quite prosperous; or ut least they - have been getting good prices for ’ most of their products and from money standpoint the farm ought to have attracted the attention of young man as a safe and sure way, in which to make a living. But the drift to the towns continued h uninterruped. As a result farm help is growing exceedingly scarce i and wages have advanced. The 1 desire to get into the city is inate f i with some young people and is inJ culcated into others by their par- . ents who behove that life in a city . is more pleasant and more desir - . ab]e than on a farm. It will require considerable time to reverse present conditions but the change will come. Living on a farm is far from the worst thing a man can do. FINE DISPLAY Water Color Portraits by World’s Greatest Artists. The line was made by the highest priced artists in America for the Sprague Hathaway Company of Boston, highest class dealers of water color protraits in the world. Mr. Moser | did not learn of the arrival of tire line in time toannounce the feature or many Decatur people would have taken advantage of the opportunity to see tne beautiful pictures.
