Frank Hanley, one of the republican candidates for governor, was in the city between trains today. Attend the meeting at the surveyor’s office Monday evening, and then devote the balance of next week to making a clean sweep for every candidate on the democratic ticket. Democrats should not be “dead
easy’’ and vote any part of a republican ticket and then be laughed at for the game that was played on them. The only way to play the game isjto vote a straight democratic ticket. With every electkn inspector are publican, they being appointed by' the republican majority of the city council, there is not a particle of pol- i tics in this election from a republican point of view. What they want is for the democrats to help them do it again. Get wise. A council that springs twenty-nine ties in two years, is composed of mighty poor material to conduct the ( — X T* limn in I
business of the city. It is time to I relegate them to the hindermost rear and to put in some blood that have a mind of their own, and backbone enough to go on record in justification of their views The scheme of nominating one candidate in the second and third wards is to elect them by the disaffection of both democratic candidates. The in-1 terests of the city is simply used as a side issue to get democratic votes to | elect a republican to office. In other words they are working a game of politics. Do not be worked.
