McDonald •will again be presented for state commander, department of Indiana. Col. McDonald is a democrat, and the G. A. R. are in the habit of honoring none but ambitious republicans to this high post. But should they make a mistake, Col. McDonald would honor the place and the cause. The democratic county convention yesterday was a happy gathering of Adams county democrats. The
large crowd present slightly spoke of the enthusiasm that is already beginning to manifest itself in the approaching campaign. It is evident that the democrats will be in evidence and that there is plenty of fun ahead for those who hold in the hollow of their hand, the destiny of the g. o. p. Stock in county conventions have gone up to par since the one of yesterday gave so many evidences of success. It is the common expression that never was a convention held here that contained so many features of respectability and good feeling. That it ever will be attempted again, we would not conj4<cture,but it is safe to say that the plan has many hundred more friends than ever before.
