J.Bayes who is numbering the houses reports that the work is progressing finely and that he will be through in a few more days. The schools of Decatur will not adjourn for the state teachers institute at Winona, though such a step has been taken by nearly every school in Northern Indiana. Decatur, Ind., people were in Toledo, Tuesday, conferring with President Shonts, regarding the proposed removal of the Clover Leaf division from Delphos to Decatur.—Dephos Currant.

Mrs. Maria Musson returned to Champaign, 111., this morning after spending the winter here with Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Boyers. She was accompanied as far as Fort Wayne by her dauhgter, Mrs. J. S. Boyers. Mrs. William Ridsby who is the j guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Confer 1 received a message this morning from Richmond announcing the i death of her brother in law, James j Cameon at fort Worth, Texas. She will return to her home tomorrow morning. Editor George Patchell's Portland friends will be pained to learn that his condition is very precarious. He had an attack of typhoid fever and was treated in a hospital in Cincinnati. When convalescent he returned to his home in Union City and a few days later suffered a relapse. The relapse has proven stubborn in getting under control and Mr. Patchell is having a serious time of it.—Portland Commercial Review. J

The remains of Austin Minehart passed through the city today from Bluffton to Portland. The bridge over Borums run, south of the city was washed out last night by the high waters. Mrs. Stauffer returned to her home at Lagrange after visiting here for a short time with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Parker arrived today from Lagrange and will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hale over Easter. The K. of P. lodge will confer the first and second degrees on a 1 candidate tonight. A good attend- j ance is desired. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Vaughn and son returned today from Angola where they were the guests of Fred’s parents. Amos Gillig left today for Columbus, Ohio, where he will make all arrangements preparetory to moving his family. Dan Vail arrived today from Audover, Mass., where he is attending school and will spend his vacation here with his parents.

Mrs. Theodore Droppieman who has been sick for some time is reported as being some better this morning and as soon as able will go to Fort Wayne to have an operation performed for a cancerous growth.
