Clark returned last evening from a professional trip at Linn Grove. Mrs. Martin B=iory, is recovering from a six weeks attack of erysipelus and blood poison. Herman Heue went to Fort Wayne last evening to visit for a few days with relatives and friends. Frank Olidges returned last evenmg from Berne where he was looking after telephone business. Alex Leßrun made a business trip to Fort Wayne last evening in the interest of his French estate. David Hunsicker went to Fort Wayne last evening, being called there owing to the death of his brother in law. Henry Colter of JRivare is quite ill with pneumonia from which be has suffered for three weeks. His condition today was reported unchanged

Alvin Hower and family left last evening for Howard City, Mich , where they expect to make their future home. C. C. Longacher and wife left last evening for Goshen. While here they were employed at the Murray House as cooks. The March section of the ladies aid society of the Presbyterian church will meet at the home of Mrs. F. M. Schirmeyer tomorrow afternoon. The Revs. John C. White of this city, J. A. Sprague of Monroe, with Lewis Rehl and A. D. Wagner will give a Jooncert at the St. Paul M. E. church at Fort Wayne Friday evening. The gentlemen named are sure of entertaining any audience at any time.

Richard arrived today from Willshire and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Will Hurst William Miller went to Martin, Mich., this morning where he will visit for a short time with his brother. Mrs. Simcoke and daughter went to Monroe this morning where they will spend the day with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. E. N.Davie went to Grand Rapids, Mich., this morning where they will visit for a few days with their son. Mr. and Mrs. D. Voltz went to Fort Recovery this morning where they will be the guest of Charles Farenlmuch and family. Mrs. Eli Peterson and daughter returned today to her home at Jeffersonville after visiting here for a short time with her mother. The daily newspapers report that during the late cold snap a Mormon out in Utah froze between two of his wives. Later news reveals the fact that one wife lives in Salt Lake City and the other in Brigham City, eighty miles away. The unfortunate man was caught in a blizzard while driving from one city to the other.

Lawrence Smith went to Geneva today where he is completing a job of plumbing. Mrs. Don Quinn who has been sick for several days is reported as being some better. Miss Alice Hurte is again able to resume her work at the Boston store after a few days illness. Martin Mylott has moved from North Third street to the Joseph Smith property on Fourth street. Mrs. George Mehils, left today for Columbus, Ohio where she will make a few days visit with her mother. Mrs. Estabrook and daughter returned to Bluffton today after visiting here for a Jew days with relatives Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Kemper returned to Alexandria, today while here they were the guests of Louis Giezle and family Roy W. Wolford is moving his household goods today [from North Eleventh street to the Burt Mann property in West Monroe street. The old Meibers home is being remodeled and will soon be occupied by Charles Meibers and family, their Third street home having been rented to Mr. Sheller. Mrs. R. B. Boyles arrived from Fort Wayne this afternoon and will make a few days visit here with her sister Mrs. McMillen and her brother Col. C. P. Ferry. Last evening a number of the friends of Miss Mary Kimsey perfected a complete surprise upon her in honor of her birthday anniversary. Music, games and refreshments were the order of the evening.

Miss Valentine returned to Monroe today after visiting here for a few days with her sister. Guy Major went to Ossian this morning where he has taken a position in a barber shop. Mr. and Mrs. T. Pierson left today for Hamilton Ohio where they expoet to make their future home. The Shakespeare Club held an interesting meeting at the home es Judge and Mrs. David Studabaker this afternoon. Manager Hively of the Rosenthals concluded today that he would bill the Bloomer Girls here for some Sunday early in next month and has so written their manager. These girls have a national reputation when it comes to playing the national game. Last season they won 100 games out of 145 played thus giving them a good record. They claim to have the only lady pitcher in the business and expect to do wonders with their team this coming season. They should prove to be quite a drawing card here and give our boys a hard game. The young people of Union Chapel church have organized their Young Peoples Christian Union, and will hold their meetings on each Sabbath evening. Their competent corps of officers are the following: President, Burt Wolfe; Vice President. Jesse Swartz; Corresponding Secretary, Miss Eram Dykeman; Recording Secretary, Miss Grace Dykeman; Chorister, Frank Kern; organist, Miss Beulah Dykman; Treasurer, William Worden; Librarian, Miss Jessie Buaserman. The society extends a cordia 1 invitation to everyone. Come and be entertained by their interesting meetings and entertaining literary programs.

Miss Luoreta Brown who was at one time empolyed as a Simplex operator in this city, yesterday evening went to Decatur where she will be employed on the Decatur Democrat. Miss Brown is an expert operator on the Simplex and will no doubt give the best of satisfaction.—Bluffton Banner. Davis Kern of St. Marys township was mad last night because his horse which was found hitched on the street had been taken in charge by Marshal Cordua and placed in a live, y stable where he had to pay fifty cents to redeem it. Davis says he came to town at eleven o’clock and the horse was taken up at three.
