Marshal Oscar Whiteman of Geneva came up this morning accompan . iedby a young man known as “Reddy” Boze who will serve a six day jail sentence for “jumping" trains. “Red” is a genuine loafer and is almost continuously in trouble of some kind. COURT NEWS Faylor-Studabaker Case Monday A. R. Wolfe Appointed Executor of Sylvester Wolfe Estate.—Other Business.
CVmrt news continues to be rather scarce article and it requires no little hustling to dig up an occasional item of interest about the ■ temple of justice. During the I thirty six days of this term but nine cases of any importance have i been filed and of this number four , have already been disposed of. The will of Sylvester Wolfe was probated in court this morning, A. R. Wolfe being appointed executor. The necessary bond was filed and approved and the necessary letters issued. John W. Abnett. administrator of the estate of Jacob Abnet, filed proof of the notice of his appointment. Proof of publication of the notice of sale of personal projierty also tiled. —c—
The circuit court room will re sume activity Monday when begins the second trial here of the FaylorStudabaker case to annul a will. The case was tried here in January, continuing nearly three weeks and resulting in a disagreement of the jury. This is the fourth trial of the case.
SURPRISE PARTY Miss Amelia Winters the Happy Victim of Good Time. A delightful surprise upon Miss Amelia Winters in honor of her fiftenth birthday was given last evening at the home of her parents and the young people enjoyed every moment of the occasion. The games of pit and flinch were indulged in was as also a three course luncheon. The guests inclued Misses Ella Edington, JeinfLutz, Fannie Hammell, Fannie Frisinger, Carrie Te«ter, Della McGongal, Dana Sourers, Ada Cowan, Nora Winters, and Amelia Winters. It was a happy event and Amelia's young friends wish her amny happy hours.

Amusements. From rep, r.s heard of the coming attraction at the opera house next Tuesday, March 15, there is no doubt of its excellence and its merits. It is headed by the well ' known vresatile comedian, Mr. William Simms, who is quite a favorite in the south. It will be remembered that Mr. Simms appeared here about two years ago and was engaged for only two weeks, but owing to his ability of making . such a big impression he was reengaged and compelled to spend five weeks in the city. Messrs Ollie Mack and Joseph M. Gaies have Mr. Simms now under contract and has furnished him a vehicle that is filled with “Just Laugh” fir the patrons of the theatre and have called the play “Pickings From Puck.” The play is superbly mouted and beautifully costumed, carry their own scenery and com pany of thirty artiste and chorus. Among the principal support of Mr. Simms are the following: Miss Mildred Flora, who appears as the Slavey, is an artist of refinement, who handles a part of this kind in a manner that has made her famous; Miss Marguerite Burnham, who has been connected with the Subret attractions and many other musical productions; Miss May D. Hall, who possesses a contralto voice of much strength, and sweetness. As to the male portion of the support to Mr. Simms, those of much prominence are: Mr. Geo. A. Martin, who handles the German part of a detective very amusingly; Mr. Wm. Woolfall, Jos. Menick, Mr. Wm. A. Wiliams. F. H Whittier, Geo. Summers, Wm. Bradley, Ernst Marvin and the Crescent (Quartette. Among the others are: The Misses Harriet Meeker, Julia Dean, Jeanette Holden, Jessie Collins, Helen Hildreth, Frances Alger, Jessie Carey, Violet Gray, Julian Bunnell, Edna Gardner. May Mills, Alice Ray, Marie Jennings. Messrs. C. F. Southworth, Wnj. Williams and others. “Pickings From Puck” has many new musical numbers and filled with bright, sparkling, clean comedy.

St Petersburg. March 12. —During a concert at court last evening organized by the empress, a rumor was current that the Russians had lost heavily during the last Japanese attack on Port Arthur. Denver. March 12. —A petition for divorce filed in the district court of Big Horn county. Wyoming, Jan. 9 last by William F. Cody (Buffalo Bill) has just been made public. The complaint lharges cruelty and alleges that on Dec. 26. 1900 Mrs. Cody attempted to ■tTVTALO »tIU poison the plaintiff. Another ground on which the plaintiff asks a decree is that the marital relation has been Intolerable to him by bls wife’s refusal to entertain his friends at his home at North Platte. N. D. Mrs. Cody, who la at North Plattte. denies her husband's charges, and will contest the suit. Col. and Mrs. Cody wore married at St. Louie, March 6. 1866. Martial Law Declared Off. Telluride. Mo., March 12.—Martial law was declared off in this district last night.
