These apologies are getting tiresome, and hereafter should be accompanied by a bottle of -Hoods—. And the Journal knew that the time limjt had been removed and that Methodist preachers 1 could live a life time in one community. Smart people, they. Harry Cordua the marshal, is very anxious that some taint of discredit should be shouldered off on Sheriff Butler. He is laboring zealously to that end and had a few yellow yards printed in last even ing’s Journal, from the chief of police in Marion, that said nothing ■ and meant notihng after it was said. The marshal could be better employed in keeping his own Lilly -white skirts free from the soil that follows a dereliction of public duty.

BLUFFTON, Ind., Feb. 20—Probably the last chapter in the TerrellWolfe tragedy was written today : whin a jury authorized by Judge Smith found upon inquiry that John W. Terrell was insane and a subject for the asylum rather than 1 the prison. The old man will be taken to Richmond as soon as a i place can be provided for him in the Richmond hospital. Attor-. neys for the state insist that Terrell is playing a careful game to avoid the penitentiary but the general i opinion is in line with the jury's' decision. Some two years ago the boy was arrested robbing Mauller’s store at Hines and was sentenced to the n?formatory at Plainfield where he served until a few months ago, when he was released on parole. A short time after returning here he engaged in a fight and was indicted by the November grand jury for assault and battery. B >fore he could be arrested he left here and went to Missouri from where he returned at six o'clock last evening and an hour later was in jail. When Sheriff Butler and Mumma came out of tlie restaurant, the boy made a dash for liberty. The officer grabbed him and both fell j on the side walk. The slippery ' kid was then handcuffed and soon landed in a cell. The authorities at Plainfield were here after him during his absence. They will , ibe honied and the boy taken back | there within a few days for violat- ’ ing his parole. He was released this afternoon on SIOO bond. I Farmers. Attention!
