Mike Belger of Fort Wayne is in the city today showing to his many friends here a handsome ring that was presented to him last • Friday evening by the memliers of the Eagle l.xige. The ring is a large gold band ring with the emblem of an eagle on it and in the center of the eagle is a beautiful diamond of about one carat. Mike was president of the lodge for the past year and on Friday stepped down | in favor of the newly elected officer and it was during the ceremony : that the members him 1 with this token of respect. Mike certainly is proud of the same and i would rather part with his life than with this ring. FOUND GUILTY. — William Hill Pays a Fine for Using Bad Language. Bill Hill of Pleasant Mills was ' arrested Saturday evening by Marshal Cordua on a charge perI ferret! by Charles Woodward for I using profane language. Ho was lodged in the county jail and was given a hearing this morning and w i,s found guilty as charged and ti led him a dollar and cost amount ing in all to twelve dollars and t wenty cents. Billy at once started for Pleasant Mills to get the necessary cash with which to pay his fine leaving his horse and buggy here as security. The fine will undoubtedly be paid some time today. Improves Slowly. John B. Drummond of South Twelfth street is still very sick with acute rheumatism, having been confined to his bed for the past three weeks.
