A full attendance is looked for, and spirited play for the prize. Darius Council Princess of Jerusalem —every one knows what that means will meet in Fert Wayne, Tuesday evening, December 22. The W. R. C. of Sam Henry Post will hold an important meeting tonight at their lodge room. All mem bers are requested to be present. One hundred cigarettes a day is the record of a seventeen-year-old lad of Bloomfield, New Jersey, who has just escaped an early grave through the skill of his physicians. The Saratoga Independent is a new paper published at Saratoga, Randolph county. The editor is Ora V. Pague and it starts off with indications of a successful career.

Miss Marie Connell went to Fort Wayne last evening to visit for a few days with her aunt, Rose Martin. Mrs. Ross Stone and daughter arrived today from Muncie and will be the guests of James H. Stone fora few days. Mr. and Mrs. Watkins returned from Fort Wayne this morning, where they were visiting a few’ days with their son. Over at Wabash gas is selling at twenty five cents per thousand and it costs about five dollars a month to keep a cook stove going all the time. Only the bankers and editors are able to use gas in that town for fuel.

Business is not very brisk around the court house today, although one marriage license was issued, the lucky parties being John Marshal and Bessie M. Boze, Preble township comes to the front with the announcement of two more candi' ites for trustee, they being David J. Dilling and John Fruchte. Another four dollar bill has turned up this time at Elwood, E. R. Leeson having a four dollar cer titicato is«ued by the state of Mary land and bearing the date of April, A steer weighing two tons and measuring eighteen feet four inches from the end of his nose to the tip of his tail will lie exhibited in the live stock department at the Wordld's Fair. This monster ox is the property of eight young men of Greentown, Indiana Indiana may have a centennial of her own at the St. Louis exposition next year. It has been proposed to the Indiana commißeioners that as many of the first log cabins were built in Indiana as early as iSIM, that one of them should be transported to St. Louis and figure in a centennial anniversary celebration. It was generally thought that tin present year was Indiana's best sm son for corn, but State Statistician Johnson saya that crop was not as largo as that of Inst year, basing his opinion on reports received from the several counties. Tim average this year will be 35 bushels to the acre. Last year it was ll bushels. Benton county raised the most corn thin year and Tipjieou noe county is the next highest on the list.
