The many beautiful scenes have been painted from photographs taken in Mexico especially for this production and are said to be magnificent examples of the scenic painter’s art. Eccentric Doctor's Suicide. Crawfordsville. Ind.. Nov. 14.—Dr. Joseph Willis, a wealthy and eccentric manufacturer of a proprietary medicine, committed suicide at Alamo. He killed himself by firing a bullet into his forehead. On his bed he had posted a written statement four feet long, announcing that he had contemplated suicide for some time. He gave no reason, but set forth a number of instructions to be followed, among other things requesting the cremation of his body. Both Feet Cut Off. Elkhart, Ind., November 14. —Harry Franklin, a tramp, residence unknown fell as ho jumped from an incoming ’ freight train, and Ernest Kelly of Huntington, also a tramp, who endeavored to pull him from too close proximity to the rail, turned his body in such away that Franklin's feet went under the wheels and both wi re cut off. Miner Pulled Mule’s Tail. Washington, Ind., Nov. 14.—Elwood Miley, a coal miner, pulled the tail of a mule which was placidly chewing a bunch of hay. When Miley regained consciousness two physicians and his family were present. Four teeth were knocked out. his jawbone was broken and a deep gash cut in his cheek

Suiting the Action to the Word, He Blew Mila Childer's Head Off. Lawrenceburg. Ind., Nov. 14.—Mike | Ingraham, an eleven year-old colored I boy, upon being ordered from the I home of John Childers, a colored laborer. near Homestead, this county, by Childers' five-year-old daughter, deliberately fired a load of heavy shot into her head, killing her instantly. The Ingraham boy stole the gun with , which the deed was committed, from , his home while his mother was at the point of death, and leaving her alone went to the home of Childers, where he contin vising and frightening the child, until little Mila ordered him to leave the house and stop pointing the gun at her. Ingraham was standing in a doorway lacing the interior of the house, and the little girl asked him to allow her to pass out and get a drink of water. Stepping aside. Ingraham permitted her to pass out. then throwing his gun to his shoulder and crying. “Mila. I’m going to kill you.’’ emptied the barrel of his twelvegauge gun into her head Without a sound the little girl fell to the earth. Before any effort could be made to stop the young murderer he fled, disappearing over a hill back of the house. He has not yet been arrested. Probably Fatally Stabbed. Fairland. Ind.. Nov. 14. —Alfred MaI jor, a teacher in the high school at Fairland, and a cousin of Charles Major the author, was probably fatally stabbed twice in the back by Edgar Bradley, aged twenty-five, son of one of the wealthiest farmers in the county. The men belong to the Knights of Pythias lodge and Major accused Bradley of giving away some of the order’s secrets. Bradley denied and a quarrel ensued in which Bradley used the knife. Bradlev was arrested on the charge of assault and battery with intent to kill and released on S6OO bo-d.
