MN SKI HIGH Dynamiters Wrecked An Ob|(jectionable "Blind Tiger" At Nashville. Force of the Explosion Was So Great That Every Business House In Town Was Shaken. Court House Across the Street Lost All the Windows on the Exposed Side. Nashville. InJ.. Sept. 19. —A "blind tiger" which has been run in this city for about fifteen months by Richard S. Collins was almost completely wrecked by dynamite. The front end of the building was blown into the court house yard across the street ami all the saloon fixtures were completely demolished. The windows of the building adjoining, occupied by M. P Poling, postmaster, were all blown out and his household goods were dam aged to the extent of S3OO. The win fiows tn the west side of the court house were blown out with their sashes. The Democrat office, which is in the basement of the Poling build ing, was shaken up and much type was pied. In every business house in Main street windows were blown out ■ and goods were shaken from the shelves. The dynamite was placed in the front of the saloon, about three, feet from the entrance. It blew down into the cellar, then exploded and shot straight up through the first floor to the ceiling. The front part of the floor and roof were blown out an 1 only the room in the rear remained standing. BLOODY TRAGEDY Evansvile Pciiceman S'.ccts Three and Commits Suicide. Evansville Ind.. Sept. 19.—A terri ble tragedy was enacted last night at the Trlstate fair grounds in the pres ence of a great number of people, and it threw the entire crowd into a panic City Detective Thomas Hutchens shot Police Chief Fred Heuke and Police Captain Fred H Brennecke, accidentally wounded Jacob Lutz, a butcher of Boonville, and then, after a desperate struggle with Patrolman Crowe filmed the weapon upon himself and committed suicide. Men in a frantic endeavor to escape from the place knocked each other down, while sev eral women fainted and narrowly es caped injury from being trampled The three wounded men were taken to a hospital. It is feared that all three are fatally wounded. Detective Hutchens had resisted the authority of his superior in placing him on duty at the fair. Murderous Robbers. Wabash. Ind., Sept. 19.—Herbert Aughenbaugh, night operator of the Erie railroad at Laketon, this county was shot while at work in his office, Two strange men came into his office and approached him from the rear They demanded his money and when he resisted one drew his revolver and shot him. while the other rifled his pockets. Aughenbaugh recovered con sciousness in a short time itter the shooting and crawled to a neighboring house, where his wounds were dress efl Pursuit was given, but the assail ants had escaped. To Recover From Poolroom. Indianapolis, Sept. 19.—H. M. Yaple has flleu suit to recover $619 alleged to have been lost in a pool room Young Yaple, whose home is at Mendon. Mich . is a student at the Indiana Dental college, and it Is said lost his tuition money in "playing the ponies." His attorneys are bringing the suit on the strength of a statute of this ctatc which says that if suit is brought within sixty days money lost on a gambling bet may bo recovered. Despondent in Love Affair. Columbus, Ind., Sept. 19.—Lewis Anderson. forty years old. living with his parents near Taylorville, committed suicide by shooting himself through the head. He was attentive to a woman who did not encourage his suit, and it is thought that despondency over his unsuccessful love affair Incited the act of self-destruction. She Preferred Her Father.
