The useless waste of the city water is an extravagance which the city authorities are going to try hard to curb. In the winter time the water consumers let a stream flow to keep the pipes from freezing and during the summer the people permit a continued flow to hike the place of ice and the refrigerator. The crusade against such offenders is a good thing and the water waste should by a 11 means te prevented. If the citizens would only think that they must pay for the waste as increased expenses make greater water rate he would te more careful and if he does not think the city authorities will think for him. The follow ing was related tn nnr Sawdust Avenue correspondent from really reliable and rational resoruces regardless of reverence. ! Two of that suburb's respected citizens, whose names are withheld to prevent stagnation of the mails by overcurious congratulation, and I who are man and wife in the sight of the law. having teen united in wedlock some time ago, agreed to disagree on matters of domestic and private import. His tetter half concluded to obtain a separation from her better half and returnjto the parental mansion with a broken heart. But it seems that she had not the heart to break it and his heart, or that she was heartless enough to remain and break her heart and his heart. At least the episode was wound up by an osculatory conciliation or conciliatory osculation for connubial kiss, and an unpacking of household goixls which had teen ready for removal. In these modern days docile womankind seldom»yields to anything short of her rights, namely divorce, but this noble example should be more frequently followed than it has been preceded, and men prove stronger than Discord.
