Several weeks ago Miss Emma Lamb, of Economy, left for Calcutta, India, to take up missionary work in the Methodist school for L'irls at that place. Previous to her departure, it will be remembered, she was made the victim of some unpleasant comment on account of the wardrobe she had prepared. A j letter has just been received here from Miss Lamb in which she tells ! about entering upon her work The letter was written April 13th, and has been six weeks in reaching Richmond, says the Snn of that | city. Miss Lamb was a graduate of the class of 1892. She states I that there are 300 girls in the school at Calcutta, and theie is also a school for hoys, but her work is in the former. Our famous baseball team left for the Ohio trip this afternoon at 1 :44 on the Yandaha line. The following games will be played: Ohio State university, Saturdav morning. Otterhein college Monday, Witti-nburg college Tuesday, Ohio Wesleyan Wednesday. Several of the professors gave quizes today. One of the professors insists upon a little formality in his department which is rather distasteful to a few students. He requires those absent on the Glee club trip to take an extra quiz, along with others that have been absent more than four times during the term. This quiz is not over the work missed at the time of the absence, but of a general nature. All required work has been completed up to date yet he insists upon an extra test. Those vitally concerned think it is not only unjust to them hut discouraging to college enterpnse to enforce such rules. The right sort of appreciation of the valuable services of the Glee club should tend to lighten their work instead of making it more burden-
