A Faculty Ousted.
Manhattan, Has.. April 11.—The dismissal of Prof. George T. Fairchild, for eighteen years president of the Kansas State Agricultural College seems to have been only the beginning of a clean sweep proposed by tbe Hoard of Regents. The dismissal of Ptof. Fairchild was followed yesterday by the discharge of fourteen other members of the faculty and numerous other employees of the institution. No charges were preferred against any of the teachers released. The Board of Regents, which is controlled by the Populists, simply stated that the discharged instructors : ‘wcre not in harmony with the fundamental principles Yd the
administration.”

Jule Walters’ Funny Comedy. Jule Walters’ “Side Tracked” will be presented at the opera house tomorrow evening, is a farcical drama that not only pleases the public, but has proven itself worthy of praise for the manner in which the author lias constructed each individual character. Jule Walters as Horatio, an independent representative of the American congress, has won golden opinions for the pleasing manner in which he por trays with dignity what his advance couriers describe as a gentleman tramp. The author of the play has been liberally endowed by nature with a fund of mingled humor and pathos, admirably suited to tbe requirements of the piece.
