Royse, DcHtuin. | Wade and Heard contested forthhonors, which were awarded in the I following: First, Hay J. Wade, second, Charles Heard, third, A. | K. DeHaun, fourth, C. I). Royse, tiftli, Shali'er, and -ivth. G. 11 Diall. The orator^ all made a cieditable showing considering the time allowed for prejuiration this year. The judges on manuscript were Messrs. I'reston. t'ntlin and Williams. The judges on delivery wi re Messrs Farr, Carson and Beckett. Mr. Wade will have the sup|iort of the student Body in the state contest, and we all have the utmost eonfidcncc in his ability to carry our colors to victory at Indianapolis. Mr. Wade's theme “The CuBan Struggle.” is a live one, and will stand the test of the most eiitical judges. K. I. Harrows wrs compelled to refrain from speaking on account of tonsilitis. He stood second with the manuscript judges. Prof. Smyscr entertained his English class with a quiz this
