No charges. Object, a good social time. Every sister of the church most cordially invited to attend. A meeting of the Bryan free silver students of Del’anw was called for 1:30 o’clock this afternoen at Smith Matson's law ollice, but it did not materialize. A repoiter of the Banner Times was in the neighborhood and counted the large number of two, who in i espouse to the question of a fellow student “if they wet*** all the Bryan students in the university” replied that they were a “part of them.” The two students did not remain long, but re-

tired.

The bright young legal luminary of

the handbill attended the meeting of the colored McKinley club on Monday evening and wrote about a column of silly twaddle about the colored boys. He tries to show them to be ignorant and with an endeayot to he cute makes light of their language. The negro hoys ot Greencastie are better educated ami better posted than those of any of their neighboring cities and the republicans have constantly aided them in their struggles to get an education. If the democrats had their way the negroes would have no rights and it is hut in line for the junior luminary of the handbill to traduce ‘.hem, misrepresent them and make fun of their meetings.

Dr. A. H. Moore had two splendid

meetings Tuesday despite the terrible weather. At Belle Union a crowd ol fully 150 was crowded into a blacksmith shop. Seats were placed close together and knees touched hacks so closely were hearers packed together. Notwithstanding the poor protection afl’orded by the building, not a man left but for an hour and a half they remained to hear the next representative. Dr. Moore gave them his sound money, protection and reciprocity views in an eloquent manner and he made votes thereby. He was followed by H. C. Lewis in a speech of thirty minutes in which lie showed up the bond record of the county and the ett'orts of the court house crowd to keep everything covered up. His reference to Mr. Reat's

election as commissioner
