The paper by Rev. W. K. Weaver of tlie Presbyterian church, before the Gentlemen’s club lust night on “The Sinfulness of Using the Authorized Version of the Bible” was one of the most interesting productions to which the club has listened and evoked more general criticism than any other read during the past year. The writer showed that the so-called Authorized Version of the scriptures which was prepared and issued under the reign of King James the Second of England, : - fuil of inaccuracies and misstatements the number exceeding thirty-five thousand. In the light of modern history and human progress it is -o grossly out of line its use should be abandoned by all the churches. The Presbyterian church uses the Revised Version and Mr. Weaver produced a chart showing that the translators of the latter had access to scores of manuscript which King James’ editors never saw or heard of. While talking to a Bannkk Times reporter at the depot, he stated that the populists had received a proposition that if they would fuse with the democrats they would be given five electoral votes. He also stated that he had never seen nor heard of any of that $70,000 the democrats report had been used as a bribe by the republicans to induce the Populist Central committee to agree not to fuse with the democrats, and that the whole report was a campaign
