It Will .Ntrenjitheii McKinley. The rilling or stealing of certain letters from Chairman Gowdy to Mark Hanna of Cleveland, which has come to light in the last few days, is a piece of infamy that ought not to be tolerated. If the opponents of Mr. McKinley in In dianapolis are reduced to such straits to accomplish the defeat of the great protectionist their cause is indeed a desperate one. The American people love fair play and they despise anything that savors of theft or other crime to defeat a candidate for office. The

This attempt of the anti McKin leyites at Indianapolis anil elsewhere to stem the rising tide in favor of the Ohio statesman will only strengthen the hold the latter has on the masses. Already the cabal of small fry politicians at the capitol arc becoming alarmed lest the state conventions next week should instruct for McKinley, and well they may be for when the people from the country and small towns arrive nothing on earth will prevent their passing the resolu tions of instruction so much dreaded.

Another feature of the enterprise is the bureau of labor for both men ; and- women, which is provided at the house. This is a kind of labor exchange, or office of intelligence, where anyone desiring work may go, with assurance of linding it, and where auv one desiring to procure labor may apply and find it. This business is very properly connected with the principal work, which is the care of the children. Let the mothers of such babies and little folks as must necessarily leave them during the day take them to the nursery, in full confidence that they will receive tender care and suitable nurture. Many things are now needed to make the urrangemeiUs at the nursery complete, and all well wishers are in\itecl to call at the office of the board and consult with (he managei nient as to what they can do in aid

The umleisigned committee appointed by the Putnam County bar to prepare rcsolulions iq.on the death of Mrs. N. T. Da'-itall present the fo l 'owing: < ’i he members of the Putnam County bar have learned with sincere sorrow of the death of Mrs. X. T. Durnall, the wife of our friend and associate Daniel T. Darna'l, clerk of Hie Putnam eirc.iit court. As members of the bar we bear testimony to the true nobility of Mrs. DamaH's life, and to the warm personal regard and esteem in which site was held throughout the entire circle of her acqiipintiuice. By the gentleness of her spirit, and the sweet graces of her character, she ado, tied all the walks of life, and added new loveliness to the character of woman. A faithful mother, an afl etionate wife, a devoted Christian -what a trinity of virtues the e; and how they adorned and beauCtied and made her life lovely and attractive. Out of the home of our brother the light has been taken; darkness and gloom hover over the household, but tlie sweet fragrance of the memory of the loved one departed, will
never fade away.
Resolved that we extend to our brother and his faintly ot >• sineercst sympathy in their sore bereavement, und that a copy of these resolutions be published in the city papers and a copy furi'islted the family of the deceased.
