Every where the party workers are expecting to give that day up to the good of the cause. The largest hall in the city, the opera house, lias been secured and everything possible will be done to handle the large crowd satisfactorily. Col. Thompson will be present and will make a speech. The delegations promise to be fully represented and they will be seated

Tiieiie lias not been a moment of time since the election of Cleveland in the fall of 18!)2, that the faam ers of tlds country could Hud any consolation in ihe situation. The boasted “wider foreign markets,” which were to be given the producers of this country In exchange for opening up our own markets to foreign competition, have failed to ap pear. The American farmer, who thought he was not having a fair chance under the protective tariff of 1892, knows better now. The protection sentiment is quite strong in the rural districts today as it is in the biggest manufacturing dis-

In speaking of tile Jackson trial Tuesday, the Indianapolis Journal says: When Judge Helm had finally continued the ease, the big court room was as silent as death. The second he caught her eye his face flushed as red as fire, but with a sarcastic smile he made his way toward the girl, who was sitting with three female companions, glaring at him like a wounded tigress.
