the comma bacillus, the “cold death worm of consumption.” This tenacious parasite never lets go j it may take years, or, if the conditions are favorable, only months, but the inevitable result Is the same, eventually to involve the whole lung substance in a putrid mass of ulceration. Brazilian Balm contains no opium or other narcotic to deaden the nerves which the disease •weeps on. It is a constitutional remedy and instantly attacks and destroys these pillaging lung moths. Wherever the blood circulates there goes the Balm to destroy the microbe, to heal and restore the broken-dis-rupted tic ues. Its cures in this field have 1 i s'- ply mirscloup. on tiro it year or so ago, the wellregulated tire department extinguished that fire quickly and with little damage to the material of the otlice. The Star Press was truly grateful then and expressed thanks that the city had a good fire department. If some of its nonsensi cal whims now about city taxes are to be believed the Star Press would want a lot of amateurs handle his tire next time. Then it would not be so grateful. The primary vote in yesterday’s election is a disappointment to democracy. It is customary for clem ocrats to poll a large vote in their primary election. J. II. James who headed the ticket, received but 2078 votes. The total for treasurer is 27)27 and the total for sheriti 2512. These votes show the strength of the party. In 1804 the total democratic vote for secretary of state was 2(i:i2, and on treasurer of Putnam county 2500 and for sheriff 2548. This shows a falling off in the democratic vote from last year, and a great falling off in the priman’ vote in the same year. Corncii.man John Riley called at the Bannkk Timms otlice last evening and stated he was for John Browning first last and all the time ; that he had no kick coming and would be found working for the good of the party at all times. Mr. Hiley's talk lias the true, manly stuff in it and he will be found as every true republican should lie— working for the city ticket in May. The gang's modesty in sending all the fat ollices to Greencastle township is truly charming.

The Souvenir Edition. The Souvenir Edition of the Banner Times as issued by the ladies of the Presbyterian church ap peared today after a scries of vex atious delays, unavoidable as such things usually are in the newspaper business. The paper is a success, withal, and is a high compliment to the industry and energy of the ladies of this congregation. The Souvenir contains sixteen pages of news, miscellany, advertising and other features, all col leeted and edited by the ladies. A handsome cover finishes the paper. It was expected to get the paper out a day or so earlier than it was, but it being an Easter number it is in plenty of time to be placed before the many readers by Eiister. The paper has to be seen to be appreciated as it contains numerous cuts and illustrations, and agents are at work selling copies at ten cents each.

A Corr**c*iion. In the Easter Souvenir Edition published at this otlice for the women of the Presbyterian church a number of typographical errors occur owing to the great rush in getting out the paper, On page 9, in “Extracts from a sermon preached by Rev. W. K. Weaver on the occasion of Pearl Bryan’s murder” the copy read “three states— yes a nation stands appalled” but the compositor made it read ‘‘three stabs—yes a motion stands ap palled.” The proof was read and corrected but corrections failed to be made in the type.

The result was reached this morning, about nine o’clock when the absent townships were brought in. The gang basely deceived Lane and Tucker. They were, but the ring switched around ami Inst Saturday their tried and trusted lieutenants went to the out districts witli the machine mandates and the thing was done, Browning and Bunten getting in the pool ami Greencastle getting all the good ortices. Spring Is the season for purifying, cleansing, and renewing. The accumulations of waste everywhere are being removed. Winter’s icy grasp is broken and on all sides are indications of nature’s returning life, renewed force, and awakening power. opring Is the time for purifying the blood, cleansing the system and renewing the physical powers. Owing to close confinement, diminished perspiration and other causes, in the winter, impurities have not passed out ot the system as they should but have accumulated in the blood. Spring Is therefore Ote best time to take Mood’s Sarsaparilla, because the system is now most in need of medicine. That Mood’s Hatsaparilla is the best blood purifier and Spring medicine is proved by Its wonder- j till cures. A course of Hood’s Sarsaparilla now niay prevent great suffering later on. Hood’s
