The Brazil band and the McKinley club of clay county’s capital marched down Vine street yesterday and serenaded the Bannek Times. The Me Kiidey club made a great impression and were applauded upon all sides. The Brazil hand is composed of a lot of sterling gentlemen and tine players and they always meet with applause iu this city where they ate general favorites with our musicians. Under Frof. Station's leadership they play the best of selections and the Banner Times stands ready to doll its lint to the Brazil musicians at any time. Come again gentlemen, with your good music. Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Gilmore entertained a large number of their friends last evening at cards. Progressive six hand euchre was the game and it was a novelty to most of the players. It was readily adopted, however, and proved to be an enjoyable game. At the i lose of the game elegant reti’cslnnents in two courses were served. The a Lair was in honor of Mrs. Gilmore’s sister, Mrs. XVrenn. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lockridge, of Indianapolis, were present. Mi-s Nellie Hainmond and Mr. B. F. Corwin were winners of the chief prizes. The evening was pleasantly spent as are all sueh occasions umLr the hospitable roof of Mr. and Mrs. Gil-

The leading merchants, the leading insurance men, the leading physicians, lawyers, educators, all climbed patiently to eminence. Plants get up, trees get up. men and women get up, all in one way—by climbing up. Mrs. Frof. Duvall, of Delaware. Ohio, will arrive in the city tomorrow. She will visit with Mr. and Mrs. A. 11.
