Iii tli<* llrynn i aMr. Credited to a Special from (irPeiirAMt le. The Commercial (iazette. of Cincinnati today contains a special credited to Greencastle which is in part as lollows: One of the stories which has recenth become public property, and which is believed to have been told by Scott Jackson himself to an intim itc associate or two, and which is swallowed wiih avidity by Ureencastlu people, who had the utmost confidence in the virtue of Pearl Bryan, is to the ellect that at a social gathering one evening last summer Pearl Bryan and iseou S.ickson were two of the guesls. Mi-« Bryan did not -eem to he enjoying herself, and told Jackson that she had the tsntliachc. He informed her tliat if she would call at the office on the following day lie would cure her toothache ett'eetunlly. She did so. Dr. Gillespie was at tlie time, oi t of the city. After Jackson had examined the tooth, the story goes, he told lerihat he could attend to it. though it wouhl he very painful, and udtised ihe employment of an anaesthetic. It is stated that the drug used was cocaine, administered internally, and that Mi-s Bryan was in the office in an unconscious condition, for almost two hour-. People here are of ihe opinion that it was there that Scott Jackson ruined the girl whom he is now alleged to have murdered. It is stated, on quite reliab'e authority, that this story will be told on tlie witness stand at the proper time. Dr. Gillespey stated today in speaking of the item that he was absent from his ollicc but two days in-which Jackson was left there alone. One was on October 3 and the other was earlier. At no other times did Jackson have access to his office in his absence.
