It is thought that the tire originated in the c«llar, where' there was a stove used in cold weather to keep the vegetables from freezing. Near the stove was a barrel of bran and it is thought that the heat of the stove started the barrel to burning and from tins the flames spread to the wall. The blaze was eontined almost entirely to the space between the lathing on the walls and between the flooring and the celling below it. On account of this fact it was diflleult to reach.
