The O’Houligan Masquerade company which showed here recently wound up in a free-for-all tight at Marion Saturday night in which Jolm West, German comedian, and Will Long an.nlicr member were badly hurt. Alex Lockridge lias a private ford across liig Walnut creek upon which he lias a claim that he is willing to surrender. On Monday he hitched up a faithful hor.:e which he always uses for the nip across the creek and started. He had a light road wagon in which was several bushels of clover seed. The well trained animal went gayly into tbe creek at the ford, and tlien getting excited started down stream for deep water. Mr. Lockridge, the wagon, and the clover seed went along, and in order to keep the animal from drowning its owner, while standing in water up to his neck, had to cut a good set of harness to pieces. This is the second immersion Mr. Lockridge has had at that ford this winter and he thinks by this time he ought to be sound in tlie faith. It is rumored that lie lias a warranty deed all made out ready to present to me one who will take that pesky ford off his hands.
