Diiggy or Prof. Priest. The weather will be moderated by Saturday, so arrange and be ready for a big time and a glorious victory, and we must all be there and show our enthusiasm. Miss Helen O’Dell will not be in school any more this year owing to weak eyes. A Zoology quiz in the morning. The debate team is in line trim for any argument that the I. U. men may advance on the 22. The’97 annual work is gradually coming to a close. The photograph question ought to be disposed of as soon as possible. Only a few more days until the Mirage goes to print, so hustle up with your photographs. Have you subscribed for the Mirage yet? If not, be sensible and help a good cause along and support the university enterprise by subscribing for a copy for yourself and Rev eral for your friends. Profs. Fetter and Rhetts visited DePauw university a few days ago in order to arrange preliminaries for the intercollegiate debate next Saturday evening. They report a great interest in the event at D. P. U. and were told that a large crowd would attend from Greencastle. The I. U. representatives, Messrs. Hainer, Prince and Gsinard are practicing earnestly and are confi dent of success. A few evenings ago Drs. Woodburn, Fetter and Rhetts argued iu opposition to their position and tonigiit Messrs. Kremmp, Harvey and Brooks will give them a practice debate.— Ulna m ington Telephon c. Hon. W. D. Owen, secretary of state, will preside at the DePauwI. U. debate. Miss Edna Odell has gone home on account of trouble with her
eyes.
The Phi Gams w ere photographed this evening. Otto liasye was unanimously elected captain of the base ball team today after chapel. This is certainly an excellent selection. Mr. Baayc is well acquainted with the tactics of the game and will command the respect of the players. The Indianapolis Journal will have a special reporter at Bloomington on the 22nd to report the debate, a full account of which will be published in Sunday’s JonivirtL The next lecture in the regular course will be delivered by Dr. James iledley on March 4. Watt Lewis says that lie is taking a special course in voice culture in order to lead the yell at Bloomington, There is an unusual revival of interest among the higher institutions of learning in the intercollegiate debate system once so popular. All the great western and eastern colleges are following the lead of DePauw. Prof. Stnyser’s English semi
A large number of students will attend the lecture at Locust Street church this evening. The officers of Pan Hellenic association met today and discussed plans for the banquet. Theodore H. Neese and Fred S. Hall have been pledged to Phi

Cruizes have begun to fall thick
and fast again.
Mr. Ellis, of the freshman class, wears Sigma Nu colors. Mort Dial will visit in Terre Haute on Washington's birthday. Base bail prospects are indeed flattering. The captain has been chosen and indoor practice has already begun. A base ball coachor has been secured who certainly will
aid the team.
Dr. Gobin’s remarks yesterday at chapel on the rules for social conduct of the students struck the keynote of the question cf social life. Dr. Gohin believes that every student should be put on his iionor and that rules as tar as their enforcement is concerned are not necj essary, but are only necessary to show the desires of the trustees and patrons of the university. The omission of the rules from the cards this semester, we believe marks a great step in the advancement of coperation among all of our students for purer social life and cannot fail to react with good effect on the interests of the university.
