meeting in this city Saturday afternoon. The following colleges were I represented: Purdue represented by Cloyd Marshall, Rose Polytechnic I Institute, W. E. Black; Butler, T. A. Davis; DePauw, C. I). Mali; Wabash, J. R. Davis; I. U., C. Crampton. It was the general opinion of the delegates that a regular schedule of base ball games should be made out. I. U’s. delegate however, did not favor this plan since some games had been arranged with which they did not wish to interfere. Purdue on the other hand would not commit itself at present to arransre for the regular schedule of foot ball games next year as several dates had already been arranged. After some preliminary discussion the association went into a committee of the whole and reported the following base ball schedule for this season : April 11. Hitler—Indiana at Bloomington. April IS, Butler Purdue at Indianapolis. April 25, Purdue-Rose Polytechnic at Lafayette. Apiil 27, Butler DePauw at Ureencastle. May 2. Butler—Walia.-h at Crawfordsville; Purdue—DePauw at Gre«ncastle. May U, Ro-e Polytechnic—Wabash at Terre Haute; DePauw Indiana at Greenoastle. May 23. Rose Polytechnic—DePauw at Creencuetle. May 25, Rose Polytechnic—Purdue at Lafayette; DePauw Indiana at Bloom-

May 30, Rose Polytechnic—Butler at Terre Haute; Wabash—Purdue at Lafayette. DePauw’s games are as follows: May 2 with Purdue at Greencastle, May 9. with I. l T . at Greencastle, April 27, with Butler at Greencastle, May 23, with Rost* Polytechnic at Greencastle. Other DePauw games, May 20, D. P. l T .—I. I', at Bloomington ; June 9, D. P. U.—Blockham, Greencastle. The Wabash representative at the meeting failed to reach any agreement with Man ager Nees for a game with our team. A number of plans were suggested by both parties but no agreement could be reached. DePauw has played the last two football and base ball games on Wa bash grounds and DePauw thinks that she is entitled to play Wabash here this season. It is hoped that such arrangements can be made. The matter of state field day was discussed at length. From the out look there will he a very interesting meeting. All of the representatives stated that the institutions whicli they represented would send field day teams. Purdue seems to be the favored place for holding the meeting, although that will not be settled until in March. Coacher Wade writes that he is greatly pleased with the outlook for foot ball next year. Purdue university is very anxious to meet our foot ball team next fall and it is probable that a game will be arranged to be played at Greencastle or Indianapolis.

The candidates for the various field day feats should be in training. DePauw hopes to break her record this year. The fresman class had a rousing class meeting Saturday afternoon The following class officers were elected: president, Mr. Tatman; vice president, Miss Bacon; secretary, Miss Smyser; treasurer,Percy Swahlen; prophet, Miss Reed; historian, Miss Winekoop: poet, Miss Mitchell: sergeant-at-arms, Roy Tuller. Frank Strouse made his usual Sunday visit here yesterday. The ’98 class met in Plato Hall Saturday afternoon and decided to publish a Mirage next year, and elected the following class officers: president, Garrett Cooper; vice president, Miss Cartwright; secretary, Miss Boatman; treasurer, Mr. rollings; historian, Miss Madden; poet. Miss Daniels; sergeant ntarms, Cbas. Dayis; class manager, Jim Hughes. The Mirage officers will be elected some time soon. MUSIC AND AHT NOTE*. Orchestra rehearsal this evening st 7:15. Miss Marie Hirt has begun work in the music school this semester. Miss George and Miss Matern are now devoting Mondays to portrait work from life. Miss Mar}’ Mitchell lias joined the class in china painting. Miss Evalyn Foster is obliged to leave her work in music and art temporalily. on account of her health. Pupils’ fortnightly recital at music hall on Wednesday evening at 7 o’clock. The date of the MacDowcll recital in the artists’ course is March 2. Prof. Schellsclimidt played witii the Wilczeck company in their recent concert in Indianapolis. Miss Helen O’Dell, one of lust year’s teacher’s class in the school of music goes to take charge of a large class at Wolcott, Indiana.
