The senior and junior preps tried again yesterday afternoon to take the seniors’ Hag from the middles. There were about twenty-five to a side. There was a lively scrimmage for a while hut the seniors could not get possession of their flag. As a result of the fight there were several black eyes, bloody noses and muddy torn clothes. The 1900 boys had better cease, if by the aid of the juniors they can not hold their ground. A very large audience greeted Dr. M. M. I’arkhurst last night in Meharry hall. His subject was the “Divinity of Christ,” which subject he handled in a masterly manner. Rev. Parkhurst is an easy talker and logical thinker. There was not so much enthusiasm manifested last night as there usually is on such an occasion, but we heard some truths last night that will give us something to think ovet in the future. When a young man tells us a party is going home and nn item is made of it in the paper, and he fails to go it is a poor excuse for him to he angry. Some people would not hare us believe what they say themselves or what is told us in apparent good faith. We give the news as we learn it and do not make any more mistakes than we are compelled to. The best way to treat the college reporter is to give him exact facts and he will treat them accordingly. Next week will be a busy one for most students, being the last week of recitations until the semester examinations. Frank Roller’s father was buried last Thursday. Frank will return in a few days and resume his studies. The fraternity pictures for the ’97 Mirage must be handed in by the middle of February.
