‘•Le cercle franeajs” met for reorganization last Friday evening at Beecheroft. The club this year will be open to all students of the French department who wish to speak the language. The object is not to xtudy French but to use it and to have ‘‘a good time” in French. The membership counts already fifteen. Miss Meader was elected secretary and Misses ('haflee, Applegate and Tutewiler were named the program committee. The evening was spent in singing, talking and playing games. The club will meet ever}' Friday. It is a mistake about the Delta Tatis and Sigma Chis going to hold a union meeting next Saturday night. Next Friday is Founders’ and Benefactors’ day. We shall have a holiday Friday. Hev. Parkhurst, of Chicago, will address the students on that day. Paul Gilbert spent Sunday in Connersville. The many friends of Miss Goodwin ore pained to hear of her misfortune in the sudden death of her father at Brookvillt\ Miss Goodwin departed last night for her home accompanied by Miss Apple gate. Mr. Riley, assistant in the biological laboratory, and teacher in prep, is quite sick. Dr. Bingham preached to a large audience at College Avenue church yesterday morning. “Polly” Huick and Chas. Nowlin will visit in Indianapolis this evening. The long talked of athletic concert will probably be given about the 3lst of this month. There will he seven contestants on the college oratorical contest, Watt Lewis, Claude D. Hall and Mr. Want from the senior class, Kwing, Debann and Woodson from the junior class and Ray Wade from the sophomore class. The freshman class will have no repre sentative this year. Frank Roller will go home tonight on account of the seriousness illness of his father. The ‘97 Miraoe hoard met as usual this morning in Prof. Longden’s room. The Mirage promises to he out by the middle of April. Each fraternity will lie compelled to pay $20 for their frat picture to appear in the annual.
