The old time melodies from the fiddle unloosened the pent energy and agilitv of some of the “middle agers” present who joined the younger generation in such favorites as the “Virginia Reel,” “Dan Tucker” and some of Hon. H. II. Mathias original quadrille figures. Old 18lhi passed all too quickly in the charge of such delightful entertainers as the hostesses upon tliis occasion. The Kevlval Has Closed.

The great revival at the Christian church ceased last evening amid marvelous enthusiasm and interest. Greencastle has not wit nessed such an awakening for many years and never in the history of the Christan church has there been such au ingathering. Many of the -additions are among the best families and most influ ential citizens. The church has been greatly strengthened spiritu ally and financially and with its enlarged opportunities for uselul ness has a bright future for good before it. The house was packed to the doors last night and the walls from one side to the other were lined by men standing. 'Mr. Boyer discoursed beautifully on the subject, “From the Cradle to the Grave,” showing the wonderful power of Christianity in conferring blessings upon all classes and during all the stages of life, childhood, youth, manhood and old age. He closed with such an appeal to sinners to become obedient to Christ as is seldom heard, and seventeen persons responded, making 183 ad ditions during the revival. Six persons were baptized. After short talks by the pastor, Mr. Boyer, ami others, the converts formed a circle around the room ana, grasping hands, sang 1 Blest be the tie that binds.” One bun dred and (ifty-one comprised the group anti presented a most impressive sesne as they completely enclosed the groat audience in the seats. Mr. Boyer offered a beautiful prayer that touched every heart. After an hour of social enjoyment another service was held appropriate to the dying of the o’d year and the birth of the new. At half past twelve the farewell word was spoken to Messrs. Boyer and Brower who have accomplished so j much good in the community and who hold such a warm place in so ! many hearts. They are noble, I grand, true men. This afternoon at two o’clock a baptismal service was held. No doubt several will 1 he baptized after prayer meeting

anti others next!
