They will be considered as staple an article next year as plows, cultivators and other farm machinery The alarm of tire this morning rang in from box No. 52, was caused by a smart little blaze on the roof of Mr. Gieenlief’s residence on Seminary street, four houses east of Arlington, the property formerly owned by Miss Hart. A hot furnace set tire to soot in the chimney and the same was transmitted to the roof of the house. An alarm followed and the department made one of their usual good runs. The lire hoys hitched to the water plug in front of S. II. Lillis' residence and in a few moments had a stream of water on the tire. A small patch of shingles was burned which in all will not amount to over a dollar or two m damage. There was no water thrown inside the house, and taking it all •'round the lire was admirably handled, considering the snow and cold weather. Greeneastle's tire department is all
right.
