Those who contemplate going to Louisville Thanksgiving should band in their names to C. Hall, Wade, Hamrick or Meade. Will Sparks left for Husbville where he wtil spend Thanksgiving, The Chicago Sunday Tribune in speaking of the result of the De-Pauw-Butler game Saturday stales that DePauw’s victory was due to the fact that the DePauw team was several pounds heavier in weight. It is not true that the DePauw team was heavier than the Butler team. Just the contrary is true. The average weight of the Butler team is 1(50 and DePauw 157. The victory for DePauw was due to the plucky team work and snappy play. Frank Roller will bring another brother with him next year to play foot ball. The University of Illinois foot hall team wiped the earth with the Northwestern team Saturday. Captain Menzies of the I. U. team is here today. The students are going home f ir Thanksgiving. Dr. Gobin returned from New Alban}' last night where he has been on university business. A number of songs were sung at chap d this morning over the Saturday’s victory. Ed Davis was on the sick list yesterday. The members of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority entertained their friends in a very elegant manner last evening at the beautiful home of Miss K. Jean Nelson on east Seminary street. During the latter part of the evening light refreshments were served. Guy Rodgers after a pleasant visit with Sig brothers and friends departed for Chicago today. The DePauw Weekly board met after chapel this morning. Rev. Boyer led chapel today. Prof. Longdon's lecture was put otf last night on account of the bad weather until one month from last Saturday. Nashville, Nov. 2fl.—The Colliseum, Nashville’s new bicycle enterprise, was inaugurated last night with the breaking of a world’s record. L. D. Barrett of Lincoln, Neb., rode two miles without a pacer in 4:49 1-5. The record was 4:54. Colonel Breckinridge Again a Candidate. Fkankfokt, Ky., Nov. 26—Colonel W. C. P. Breckinridge of Lexington, it is now understood, will make the race for congress in the Seventh district next year. It is said that he has told his friends that he will make the race and that lie expects to win. During the late campaign Colonel Breckinridge stamped the district for the Democratic state ticket and everywhere drew immense crowds. Drowned While Skating. Burlington, Vt., Nov. 20.—While skating yesterday on Round pond, two boys, George Rult, age 13, and Jean Beaupre, age 11, were drowned. tTeorge Beside, age 13, had a narrow escape, but was rescued. The boys ventured near the middle when the ice gave way. The bodies have been recovered. Engineer and Fireman Killed* Jackson, Tenu., Nov. 26.—A passenger train northbound, due here late last night, ran into a boxcar which had been blown onto the track at Lamar, Miss., and Engineer Wooley of Water Valley And his negro fireman were killed. The aasseugers were uninjured. Trains were ielaved a few hours.

Violent snowstorms prevailed yesterday in Italy at Turin and Acqui. A train running between Genoa and Acqui was snowed up. Alexander Dumas, the distinguished French author and playwright, is seriously ill in Paris. He is suffering from a cerebral abscess, anil a fatal termination is feared.

These ears are the tlnest that have ever been turned out of the Pullman shops, and are duplicates of the magnificent cars on the New York anil Chicago Limited. They are divided into nine rooms, each room containing a double lower and upper berth of the j pattern used in the open sleeping car. The rooms are much larger than the staterooms in the largest steamships; eaeli room being furnished inadill'erent colored tapestry from its neighbor, and containing a wash-stand which is built into one corner. This wash-stand is arranged so that it is really a receptacle lor hats, bonnets and small arricies; also containing a clothes brush, liair brush, comb, etc., and by pulling down the metal handle a large silver wash basin is brought into position, and right above the basin are two faucets, one for hot and the other for cold water. In addition to this is a faucet connecting with a drinking fountain of ice water. In the other corner of the room is a handsomely cushioned seat which can lie ini ued to one side, exposing the closet. Electric bells and every convenience that can possibly he crowded into a hotel room are in these compartments. The prices are the same as in ! the standard open sleeping ear, and our' patrons have the choice, as we run one ; car of each pattern on every night train of the C. II. A 1). and Monon, between Cincinnati and Chicago, both to accommodate those who do not know the advantages of the new car and prefer the tiie old style on account of familiarity with them, and to enable ii*. except in great rushes, to give every one a lower berth.
