Have you handed in your name to go to Indianapolis? A one dol lar rate has already been secured. The train will he procured for our accommodation and if two hundred band in their names an 80 cent rate will be given. There undoubtedly will be two hundred students go next Saturday and they had as well have advantage of the 80 cent rate. The game will surely be a very intere.ting one. Don't miss it. Regardless of the frozen ground and inclement weather the foot ball practice yesterday was excellent. The boys are training well and not one effort will be spared to make the team play the best game ot the season against Butler uext Satur-

day.

Great interest is being manifested in the foot ball game which is to be played at Louisville on Thanksgiving day between DePauw and the Louisville Athletic club. In all probability a special train will be run from Greencastle carrying the DePauw team and its friends. A rate of $2.50 has already been se cured provided 100 go. Those intending to go should hand their names to Hall, Meade, Coach Wade, Cooper or Hamrick. If a special train is secured it will leave here about 8 o’clock in the morning. Every one should go to Indian apolis Saturday, he loy&l and support the team. Tickets good for return up to and including Mon-

day.

Those who are not fortunate enough to go to Louisville Thanks giving with the foot hall team will have the opportun ty of hearing the famous origin;. I Tei.mssee Jubilee Singers, who will give a concert on Thanksgiving night in Meharry hall for the benefit of the Athletic association. Tickets at Langdon's. Maynard Daggy went to Lafayette yesterday to hear W. H. IIar vey speak on the silver question. The Athletic board met last night and transacted a large amount of important business. Mr. Theo Nees was elected base ball manager lor the season of ’96 Mr. Frank Wade was elected as coach for the foot ball team for next year. DePauwJ'is certainly very fortunate in securing the services of Mr. Wade for another year. The present excellent^condition ol the team is due almost entirely to his training aud coaching. We feel coutident that Mr. Wade will make DePauw rank second to hut few institutions in the west next year. There will he no school next Monday and we should have Thursday, Friday atid Saturday as holidays. Heretofore when we had Thursday, Friday and Saturday as holidays during Thanksgiving week we had school on the Monday preceding. The Y. M. C. A. course tickets are not being sold as fast as they should. We have a good course this year. You can’t afford to miss it. What do you think of foot ball prospects for next year. The football team loses only one man on the regular team by graduation, 0. Hall. Kuick is again filling his old place as quarter aim he does it well

too.

Max Puett who has been sick with tonsilitis at the Beta house, has recovered. Miss Nell Brown, of Northwestern, will be here Saturday to visit Misses Malian and Campbell and other Kappa sisters. A new society has been formed in prep by the name of the Prep, association. It admits both sexes. The colors arc yellow, green and | lavender. The history seminar inm was found in a mutilated condition this

morning. The tables were all turned up side down and piled in the south end of the room. On the tables the chairs were heaped in all shapes. Who did the work is not yet known, but if found out will surely have to suffer. The first .year Biology class have almost completed the work on Fungi and will take up Annals after

Thanksgiving.

Mrs. Brown, of Indianapolis, is visiting at the Kappa house.

The Original Tennesseean Jubilee Singers, so well advertised last week, have come and gone. They were greeted by a large aud critical audience. They gave perfect and complete satisfaction. They are worthy of all that has been said by the press concerning-them and well deserve the patronage of any community.—Providence Herald. The company will be here for a concert in Meharry hall on Thursday (Thanksgiving evening) under the management and for the benefit of the Athletic association. It

VfrhWinor* Mardar Trial. Looahbpokt, Ind., Nov. 31.—Benjamin Whitmore was placed on trial here yesterday for the murder of Edward Leary, near Delphi, last summer. Whitmore is an itinerant horsetrader, of whom little is known. In personal appearance, education and financial affairs he appears to be far above his class. He and Leary were accompanied by two women who claim no relationship, and the men fought while intoxicated. Whitmore has employed strong counsel, and he proposes to make a fight for liberty on the ground of selfdefense.

THE NEW PULLMAN.

Compartment Nleepiug Cars, Cincinnati to ChicaKo, C. II. A I). K’Y. These cars are the finest that have ever been turned out of the Pullman shops, and are duplicates of the magnificent cars on the New York and Chicago Limited. They are divided into nine rooms, each room containing a double lower and upper berth of the pattern used in the open sleeping car. The rooms are much larger than the staterooms in the largest steamships; each room being furnished in a diner-4 ent colored tapestry fiom its neighbor, and containing a wash-stand which is built into one corner. This wash-stand is arranged so that it is really a receptacle fur hats, bonnets and small articles; also containing a clothes brush, hair brush, comb, etc., and by pulling down the metal handle a large silver wash basin is brought into position, aud right above, the basin are two faucets, one for hot and the other for cold water. In addition to this is a faucet connecting witli a drinking fountain of if:: water. In the other corner of the room is a handsomely cushioned seat which can be turned to one aide, exposing the closet. Electric liells and every convenience that can possibly be crowded into a hotel room are in these compartments. The prices are the same as in the standard open sleeping car, and our ,)Atrons have the choice, as we run one car of each pattern on every night train of the C. II. A D. and Monon, between Cincinnati and Chicago, both to accommodate those who do not know the advantages of the pew ear and prefer the M the old style on account of familiarity ^ witli them, and to enable us. except in great rushes, to give every one a lower berth. v.
