He left Baltimore about three weeks ago on his wheel for St. Louis. Mrs. S. J. Powell, of Danville, 111., who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. John Merryweattier, returned home today. Dra. Smythe and Tucker removed a vascular tumor from the face of the two year old cldld of J. It. McCullough, of Clay Center, today. Revival services are still in progress at the North Mission at seven o’clock and will continue all next week. Everybody cordially invited to come. A cheerful liar was heard telling that he saw a turkey sitting on a stump, the other day, counting on its toes just how many days it was until Thanksgiving. It is understood that Algebra will be added to ;the course of studies in the public schools next year for students in the eighth grade. The move is a good one and will doubtless meet the approval of the patrons of the schools. A team of horses hitched to a carriage, became frightened this morning at an umbrella, just south of town and ran away, overturning the carriage and demolishing the top. The occupants, a lady nud gentleman, were thrown out and an ugly cut was made upon the lady’s head. They live in south Putnam, hut all efforts to learn their names proved fruitless. If merchants who are sitting on the corner waiting for trade to come in, would use printer’s ink and tell the people of good chauces to buy. there would he quite a difference.
