the innovation by Mr. Benefield, of Columbia, the history of the Delta U was given in a very pleasing and interesting manner by Geo. F. Andrews, Brown, ’92, After a song by the fraternity the oration of the evening was delivered by Charles R. Williams, of the Indianapolis News. Mr. Williams had a mas-

iang. And now they are trying in suit. And in this they have sue ceeded. It’s bad enough to lose both money and the game, but it’s awful when they lose their temper so far as to use such epithets as applies to the college, the team and the umpire and referee. Possibly they will regret having insulted the

bled at the chapter rooms of the Delta U fraternity, where an elegant reception whs given. The Delta U boys used (he new opera building as a reception room. Their rooms were very prettily decorated in Delta U and DePauw colors. Near the front of the room was a large badge formed of colored electric lights showing the colors of the fraternity as well as the outline of the badge. The lights blended with the Biirrounding colors making a decided novel and pretty effect. The evening was spent in social intercourse, promenading, singing “college and fraternity songs, and a general good time. Delightful refreshments were served during the evening. Most excellent music was furnished by tlie Panden Bros.’ orchestra. In general the reception was one of the finest ever given here. Those present expressed themselves as having had a most enjoyable time and that it was one of the best receptions they ever had the pleasure ol attending. The Delta U had a large contract upon their hands in entertaining a national ^#*fention in a city the size of Mreencastle, but they took up the work with an energy and will that meant success from the start. They kept the visitors entertained and

An apology will be demanded of DePauw university for the insulting and lying article in tiie DePauw Weekly in reference to last Saturday’s game. If a full and return apology is not given no return game will be placed. The article said there was not a gentleman on the Wabash team and insulted students and college outrageously. Of all the baby acts that was ever played this beats them all. Talk is cheap, the score was (5 to 0 in favor of Wabash however. Figures don’t lie.—Crawfordsville Ary us News.
