She accompanied Mrs. E. B. Evans to Owen county today to visits. P. Evans and family. President Ingalls, of the Big Four, accompanied by the Commercial club of Cincinnati, passed through thic city yesterday afternoon on a special train enroute to St. Louis. The train made tlie run from Indianapolis to here in 42 minutes. Robert Gridin Morris, advance agent of Conterno’s band is here today making aarangements for the appearance of that celebrated organization here on Friday of this week in the opera house where they will gi ve an afternoon and an evening concert. The abandonment of train No. 1 on the Pennsylvania system has caused a big kick between Columbus and Indianapolis. Richmond, Ind., particularly is complaining because the train was very convenient for the people of that city. It is asserted by the company that the government demanded more mail cars, and the only way the company could carry them was to take olf this train and double others. To add the mail cars and keep this train in service the officials say would lose money for the company. The District meeting of tiie Womans’ Foreign Missionary society of the M. A Peculiar sk*liool. A traveling man in “The Philadelphia liecord" tell of a most peculiar school in Kentucky which is built on wheels. “When night comes,” he says, “a pair of mules pulls it to the home of the trustee, and the next morning it is drawn back to its daytime location. The mules go and come on schedule time, and if the school is a little slow about dismissing in the afternoon the whole outflit is apt to lie given a free ride. A day’s supply of water and wood is put aboard by the trustee every morning before the school house sets out upon its journey. The teacher hoards with the trustee and needs no carriage. At night a bulldog ischained beneath the little frame building and a bad man armed with a Winchester, sleeps inside of it. All of this came about because some one threutened to burn the school house. Why the trustee does not have the building located in his own yard and save the trouble of hauling-it back and forth I do not know, unless it is to comply with some legal technicality.
