•« HI. . .. The foot-ball game of the season will be played Monday afternoon Every student and citizen should attend as it will be one of the best games that will be played here this year. For the benefit of now stu dents we wish to state that all students are expected to attend and that it is not improper to escort a young lady to a game. In fact every young gentlemen is expected to bring at least one young lady. Happily, the university has made no rules on this matter and a young man is at liberty to take a half dp^en J'oung ladies if he chooses to do so. But the young ladies should also understand that their presence on the field is appreciated whether they have an escort or not, and they should consider it their duty to attend. Let everyone be gin to buy ribbon and horns and develop their lungs, that our first game may be a howling success. Messrs. Life, Erving, Beckman and Broadway and Misses Brown, Peyton, Might and Smith took supper at Mt. Meridian last night. Several valuable additions are being made to the European History library. Essay writing is the only topic of conversation among the fresh-
men.
Several students were seen carrying apples in from the country last evening. Some one’s orchard surely suffered. a .lohn Wagoner, of Knightstown, was the guest of Chas. Beard yes terday evening. Miss Shanks, the state see re tan 7 of the Y. W. C. A., left yesterday afternoon. Miss Hollinsbed, the new instructor of the Music school, arrived today. The freshman class is arranging for a banquet. Harry Maxwell sang a fine solo at chapel this morning. The gents of the freshman class met after chapel today. NOTES FROM OTHER COLLEGES. The arrangements for a foot ball coach have again fallen through. Manager Welborn thought that he had Osgood sure, but it is now discovered that Indiana university has outbid us, offering him $81 a week and expenses. If is possible that
