after Y. W. C. A. interests. The annual spike is drawing to a close. Miss Yenne has returned to resume her work. At a meeting of the board of directors of the athletic association last night a large amount of important business was disposed of. Treasurer Priest's report was read and adopted. Arrangements were made for securing a foot ball coach and the matter of buying lumber for fencing the new park was put in the hands of a committee. A new constitution for the athletic association was drafted which will be recommended to the association in a few days. Miss Lelia Means returned to her home in Illinois today. Messrs. Norton and Webster and Misses Reeves and Means took supper at Mt. Meridian last evening. Foot ball practice was about the same as usual yesterday. The team seems to be strengthening
daily.
A number of the foot ball boys were photographed yesterday: A birthday party was given last evening at Mr. Pheifer’s in honor of Miss Elsie Applegate. Several friends from abroad were present and a most enjoyable time was had. There is yet much coiup'aint that the library is ict open during some other evening than Saturday. We again reiterate what we have often said in this column, that if the library can only be open one evening in the week it should be open on the one most convenient lor tlte students. Fid Dayis is in Indianapolis toil av on business. Miss Mamie Odell, who lias been sick, has returned. Mr. Ned Rlake continues ill at his home at Terre Haute. Chas. Shumaker is pledged to

all signs fail.

A very large and fashionab’.e audience greeted Harlow Bros. Minstrels at the opera house last night, and it is safe to say, that no one went away disappointed. This is without doubt, one of the best minstrel combinations on the road today. Messrs. Jim and Billy Barlow have lost none of their old-time cleverness, that made them famous. The different specialties were all good, and well received, especially quartette singing, the Trilby song, and wonderful antics of Zclla, the human frog. Taken as a whole, they well deserve the name “magnifleent.”—Ricnmond, Va. Du ih/ Dinpatch. It. Itig Four KxcurfilonH. Dayton. Ohio, Get. 21 and 22. return limit Oct. 25, account Epworth League,

The Juniors have been trying
their new yell lately.
There has been some talk of organizing a preparatory foot ball team to play acadatuiea over the state. If such an organization is affected the school can doubtless maintain itself with Plainfield and other first class teams. There is
some fine material here.
