We have often wondered says a co-temporary, how many of our readers were thoughtful enough to preserve their home newspaper. It is likely that not one in a hundred does it. There is nothing about his oftice a publisher prizes so highly as the tiles or copies of his newspaper, and they are equally as
valuable to the subscriber. Containing, as it does, the hap
penings, great and small, of the lo Money LoanGd eality, in which it is located, and A a tt — t at the same time giving many of At a Very Low , /v • ,, 47 the important events ot the world, Rat6 Of Interest a newspaper stands as a history which canrot he replaced by ant
book or publication whatever.
No better addition to the home library could be made than the home newspaper, neatly bound in volumes, and what a pleasure it would afford the coming generation to take down the hook from its shelf and eagerly scan its pages for the home news when grandfather
or father was a boy.
What pleasure it would give mother when she gets old and her eyesight becomes dimmed, to have her children sit by the fireside and read the news and gossip of her girlhood days? If the magazine is worthy of preservation the newspaper is doubly so. Act on this suggestion anil your children and their children will thank you for
it.

I’ve often thought if I were art usher in a church and steered a person into a seat and the end man refused to move I’d gently bend over and whisper in his ear: ‘Move over or I'll throw you over.’ I don’t suppose I’ll ever be called upon to run a church. At least I’ll never take charge of one as long as I am in the newspaper business, fora fellow has enough on his hands if he runs a newspaper right; but if a church is ever placed under my supervision' I’ll have athletic, muscular fellows for ushers. I’ll get them if I have to draw on a gymnasium for them. And I'll give them strict orders to handle the bull-headed man who glues himself to the end of the seat and refuses to move over.”

New Tiling in Church Horialn.
A new thing in church socials is the “poverty party.” Everyone is expected to dress as poorly ns possible. Any unlucky individual wearing a linen collar, necktie, scarf pin, eye glasses or patent leather shoes is fined for each article of finery, and men dressed plainly are fined for moustaches or whiskers and if they iiaven’t even these are fined for being alive. We would suggest this as a very effective means of procuring funds for
missionary purposes.
