John C. Browning has traded his house and lot to Willard A. Bowen, of Russellville, for the latter’s stock of merchandise, which Mr. Browning will
move to this city and sell.
Capt. Fee has received transportation for Company I to Andetson, but has not chosen his route. A competitive drill will be held this evening at which
a full attendance is desired.
The Greenfield Republican on Saturday said : “Little George Thayer, who has been so seriously ill with flux for several days, is not much better and is

Ruthven Banning St'er was three years old yesterday and last evening gave a party to her little friends, of the ages from three to six years. The little hostess acquitted herself handsome-
ly and entertained twelve guests.
Miss Maud Gerkin, whose illness has been noticed in this paper, died yesterday at Indianapolis. The remains will he brought here tomorrow for interment. Deceased was a daughter of John Gerkin. Miss Scarce has returned from her home at Danville, where she has been spending a few days with her parents. Carl Andrews is visiting at Terre Haute today. The summer students and their city friends will hold a party at the springs on the evening of July 4. Some one evidently has it in for the correspondent of this deoartment. He has been threatened several times if certain things were published, but the climax wi.s reached this morning when he received something like an infernal machine through the postofflee. The case will be investigated and the guilty parties punished to ’he very letter of the law.
