To make this event a success, it requires the unLed cll'orts and patronage of everybody. The managers are working hard to give the people a day of enjoyment, and the people should endorse their ell'orts by a large at tendance. "'. B. Vestal and W. L. Denman, who are getting up the industrial and business men's parade for the Fourth of July, are meeting w ith some encouragement. The parade will form about nine o'clock and all owners of carriages, floats, display wagons and other rigs are invited by the committee to join. The Silver Leaf band will head the procession and all the bicyclists in the city are asked to join. Give the movement a boost by saying you w ill be on hands for the civic and business men’s parade on the great holiday. Greencastle for Greencastle should he the motto on next Thursday. The Crawfordsville “snow halls'’ a colored base ball club, came down on Friday, an unlucky day, and tried to play ball. They were evidently hoodooed by leaving their rabbit foot or something of the kind at home, for they ooul.in’t win, and their hoodoo was so oppressive Uiat they wouldn’t let the Greencastle team w in. the game resulting FJ to lit. The action was kept up until after seven o’clock, and enough able-bodied pcrs|flration ran riot on the grounds to make it too muddy for plowing. I lie Silver Leaf band lent its most robust strains to the general din, and there is a silent intimation afloat that there is right where the hoodoo ‘■manated. Brass bands and base ball garnet never did get along well together The Crawfordsville boys were well treated and in turn they serenaded the business part of tbe city last evening with some fairly good quartette music.
Mills Miiy Come.
An effort is being made, which promises to succeed, to secure Kev. R. Fay Mills to conduct evangelistic > service in Greencastle in October. Meetings will be held in the opera house or in a tent, the object being to reach the people of this city rather than the sudents. We un(brstand that all of the Protestant churches are behind the movement.
