The Marshall, 111., gun club is composed of some fine fellows, but they are rather young at the busiI ness to shoot a match with the j Greencastle veterans. The local 1 fellows opened the ball yesterday ! afternoon at a pace that at once set the Illinois lads to guessing and they kept them that way
3* Very Low through the first half. In the sec-

The storm period prevailing at the end of June will he felt in central and eastern parts of the country at the opening of July. Cooler, fair weather, with higher barometer, will be advancing ftom westerly regions. Centering on the 5th and 0th, for a peried of three or four days a wave of much higher temperature, falling barometer and general storm conditions, will make its transit from west to east across the continent. Each section of the country will in regular or der realize more or less, all the progressive phases of the reaction ary period. Between this period and the regular storm period, 9th to 13th, a relaxation from heat, with westc•rl3 , winds and higher barometer will be the .order. On and touching the 9th to 12th the temperature, barometer and atmospheric currents will all return to a state of storminess and bins tering clouds, with some rain and thunder will follow the advancing heat in many localities. if there is any subsidance in heat it will he on the heels of cloud and wind perturbations, sav about 12th to 14th. A Mercury perturbation is central on the 7th, embiaeing the llitli to 23d. Within this period fall the reactionary storm movements central on the loth and Kith, and the regular storm period, 20th to 24th. Much cloudiness is the usual order during the Mercury periods, and the best chances for rains in July seem to be on and touching the 15th and 16th and from about the 20th to 24th. Excessive warmth, with other conditions, will develop, progressively from west to east, at both the reactionary and regular periods, with brief respite fiom heat, if at all. between them. The greatest heat, followed by the most violent storms of the month, in all probability will fall on and about tile dates of new mocn and moon’s perigee— 21st to 24th. A cooler wave with anti-storm conditions will in regular order follow after the storms. We drop a word ol caution to our readers, in ease of heavy, threatening clouds any time near the 21st to 2ltb. Moon’s perigee on the 23d will prolong and intensify new moon perturbation, which would occur normally about 3lst. The change to cooler, after the storms last mentioned, will give place to returning heat about tue 27th, 18t!i, and many scattering. mid-summer storms, with more bluster than rain, will occur about 27th to 29th. By the close of July the general forecasts for the summer, we believe, will be still further verified, and those who in anywise failed to utilize the j June rains will rue their neglect.

In another column we print Hick’s predictions for July. He didn’t miss it verv far last month’
returuing prosperity
that over fifteen thousand more immigrants landed on our shores in M iv 1895 than in May 1894. Our citizens should not he afraid of being too patriotic on the Fourth. There is plenty of time yet in which to boom our exercises. Most people will remain at home and we must provide them amusement. The Fourth of July is starting early this year. Already the festive fire cracker is popping and the patriotism is beginning to bubble. Greencastle will turn a right respectable noise into the general
din next Thursday.

Weak ami Nervoil* Describes the condition of thousands of people at Ibis season. They have no appetite, cannot sleep, and comulain of the prostrating eft'eet of warmer weather. This condition maybe remedied by Hood’s Sarsaparilla, which creates an appetite and tones up all the organs. It gives good health by making the blood pure. (1 to Vtil)foiw*u's (/outeftt. The Banner Times has no claim for a membership to that ly ing contest at Vanfossen’s on July 4, that we know of, but if any of the cou testauts are short a story, and us the fishing season is at hand, we respectfully dedicate this us our
efiort:
There have been many cases where fishes have been caught in whose capacious maws were found long missing rings, necklaces, base ball masks and such like trifies. Once in a great while a thieving fish is stricken by Us conscience into a desire to make restitution. Such a fish was the giant cut widen lay watching the shores of an eastern stream all through the month of April. Many fisherman tried to land him, but he contemptuously refused the most tempting lures, until a tall man of striking person al appearance came one day. The lug cat leaped from the water and fell at his feet, without waiting for hook and line. The tail man was astounded. On cutting open the fish afterward he discovered a gold eagle which he had lost a year before lying in the fish's stomach Most wonderful of nil, there were, besides, sixty copper cents, one year's legal interest, which the noble lish had yielded up its life in trying to restore. Here is a mark for other piscatorial prevaricators to work up to.

The Summer Schoui. Mr. Chas. Gamboid, of Coates / viile, greeted friends yesterday. By the frequency of Charles’ visits there must be something very atattractive about fair Greencastle. Prof. Cook, of the department of biology, captured a very peculiar specimen of reptilia yesterday 7 . The specimen is something different from any thing ever seen in this locality and is of great interest to all students of science. Prof Cook will attempt t » classify the specimen today. An Indian mummy lias recently been added to the collection in biological department.

Purifier Before the people today, and which stands preeminently above all other medicines, is HOOD’S Sarsaparilla It has won its hold upon the hearts of the people by its own absolute intrinsic merit. It is not what we say, but what Hood’s Sarsaparilla does that tells the story: — Hood’s Cures Even when all other preparations and prescriptions fail. “Our little girl had a running sore for eighteen months. It discharged several large pieces of bone and we thought she would tiea cripple for life. Finally we commenced giving her Hood’s Sarsaparilla and it - was not long before she was well.’’ Eolantine Hunter, New Florence, Mo.
