After the Water Work* Company Wm Imminent—Claim* anil >ote*.
After a few calls of committees on Tuesday evening and the usua : rout'ne work, council livened iq considerably when the water works subject came up. The special coni mittee and city attorney, to whom the matter of examining the chat ter and the new hook of rules o< the company had been referred at last meeting, were loaded with a report that showed that they meant business when they tackled tinsubject. The personal attack made l y the Wii kltj editor upon the veruettv of the Del’auw reporter of this paper calls for a remark or two. We surmise the wrath of the II" khj editor i- caused by a certain article in the Miniye. When the rumor of jt little escapade began to circulate about the college last fall the Mirun board determined to use it. This action \va* conveyed to the Weekly editor through tin- perfidy of a tiieinher of the board. Tlte editor intervie wed the editor-in-chief of the Miroyc and attempted to prevent the publication of ttie allair by a “bluff." Failing in tins he next appeared in the guise of tt penitent supplicant for mercy. Later when the article came before the board for approval this same editor was working desperately against the publication. In the face of all tltis, the writer, true to a promise, used Ins ititlucuce and vote against it. Despite remonstrances, "What - in a Kiss” received sanction. There was then nothing to do but publish it. The report that the writer was
